Hello, ToT writer. First of all, thank you for writing for me. Below are some ramblings about characters and pairings I like and a few questions and ideas, but feel free to ignore prompts and chase your own plot bunnies. I hope you have fun!

First of all thank you so much for signing up and writing something for me. I look forward to this exchange every year. I hope you have fun with your assignment. Please take the prompts and ideas below as nothing more than suggestions. If you have another plot bunny nipping at your ankles, go for it!

Also, I've listed the characters as pairs but if you don't ship them writing about them as friends is fine too.

My Time At Portia (Video Game)-- Ginger/Female Builder

I think it's really interesting that they chose to include a character with a serious medical condition as a possible love interest in this game. I like that Ginger is very sweet and loves reading and that she often asks to just spend more time with builder, just talking. For ideas, maybe the builder taking Ginger out to one of the festivals or telling her about her adventures, or trying to find the perfect book to giver her, or about how she's looking for relics and discs in the ruins hoping to uncover something that would help treat Ginger. Whatever you choose to write I'd ask that Ginger be alive—no tear-jerker stories about her inevitable or untimely demise please. Also I stuck with the default name of Linda for the builder, btw.

Teixcalaan Series – Mahit/Three Seagrass

Really I'd love to see anything about these two--there's so little fic for them. I love how smart and witty they both are and how important language and poetry are in these books. I also found the lack of resolution at the end of the second book really bothersome so if you're up for something post-canon I'd love to see that. But really anything dealing with either of the books would be great. How does their correspondence get on after book two? Does Three Seagrass ever get to read the rest of that Stationer comic? Does Mahit every go back to The City? How do they learn to navigate the cultural differences that cause them so much difficulty in book two?

Sunless Skies -- The Felined Eccentric

The Felined Eccentric was one of my favourite crew stories in the game. I love the "Encounter with the Eccentric" scene, how they work quietly and companionably together. And I also find the scene with Paimon really funny, how he separates them when she sits next to the captain. I'd love to see anything about her travels on the locomotive--a day-in-life, a strange adventure, a problem with cats--anything really. And I'd love to know more about her feelings about what's she's become, about the remnants of her past following her in feline form, or about how she feels about the captain and crew since it sounds like it's her first time having companions.

I'm fine with the level of weirdness and vaguely violent events in the game but I'd like to avoid anything super dark or gory. Also, if you end up including the sky captain I'd really appreciate a female captain. And of course, feel free to add in any other characters you'd like.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time -- Nel/Clair

I played this game years and years ago and the whole way through I just thought Nel and Clair were way to close to be just friends. Also the NPCs were always talking about them together "Lady Nel and Lady Clair" as if they were an established pair. I always wondered if the fact of Clair technically being Nel's commander caused them problems, if they had to try to hide their relationship or if there was some sort of exception made for them. A post-canon glimpse of them would be fun, or a story about how they deal with the anxiety and separation if Nel travels with Fayt. And the addition of Adray and his misguided attempts to marry off Clair are always fun too.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation (Netflix 2021) -- Teela/Andra

I really enjoyed this series. Having Teela take centre-stage was just amazing. In a lot of the show I watched growing up girls didn't get to do anything interesting. They mostly got kidnapped and rescued. And they were certainly never the hero. So it's amazing to see a show from back in the day get revamped like this and they did such a fantastic job with it. And I love how they team her up with Andra who's super competent and a brilliant engineer. I'd love to learn more about what they did before the show—how they met, or some of the jobs they've done together, or just to see them spend some quiet time together. Appearance by the rest of the case are welcome too if you want to try something set during the show or after.

Teixcalaan Series – Mahit/Three Seagrass

Really I'd love to see anything about these two--there's so little fic for them. I love how smart and witty they both are and how important language and poetry are in these books. Anything dealing with either of the books would be great. How does their correspondence get on after book two? Does Three Seagrass ever get to read the rest of that Stationer comic? Does Mahit every go back to The City? Or between the books, how did they each manage? It seemed like Three Seagrass was deathly bored and thinking a lot about Mahit and meanwhile Mahit seemed to be losing her marbles and going for long walks.

Doctor Who – 13/Yas

I've really enjoyed the recent seasons and I love both of these two. I love Thirteen's energy and how desperate Yas is to have more time with her and more of the universe. It was heartbreaking to see her searching for the doctor in the new year's special but also just so touching that she never gave up on her. So yeah an adventure with creepy monsters is good but so is a quiet scene in the Tardis or a scene from when they were separated or anything else. I just want more time with both of them.

Magical Diary – MarySue/Virginia

So here's the thing about Virginia: it sounds very much like she's ace. Magical Diary was the first time I ever came across an ace character in a game and I can't tell you how happy I was with how they handled her character and the romance. I love both how Virginia expresses her discomfort, and how (assuming you choose to pursue the route with Virginia) the main character respects that, she respects her feelings and is willing to pursue that relationship even if it unconventional. I'd be happy to see anything with these two, whether it be during the school year and all the regular problems (school work, sports, the ball, those terrifying exams) or post canon (How do they get on? Do they get to meet each other's families? How do they deal with that marriage contract that blew up Virginia's life during the game?).

Fire Emblem Three Houses

Edelgard/Byleth

CF route is my favourite route. I love Edelgard's determination to make the world a better place and the moral greyness surrounding the decisions she makes and the ones she's forced to make due to the silthers. I love that her story is complex and tragic, but that it can also lead to hope in CF route where Byleth and Edelgard team up to reclaim Fodlan for humanity, and in doing so reclaim their own. Byleth's story arc of her slowly becoming more human becomes especially interesting with the loss of her crest and gaining a heartbeat. I'm also I'm fascinated by the double life Edelgard has to lead during the Garreg Mach phase of the game. On the one hand she's working with her imperial allies to prepare plans to topple the Church and working with the slithers, while also getting to know Byleth and the Black Eagles, which must be incredibly difficult when she knows she's deceiving them and they may or may not stick with her when they find out. But really I'm open to anything during part 1, part 2 post canon, something whatif-ish, even another route, as long as both of alive and well.

Dorothea/Ingrid
Dorothea/Manuela

Dorothea is such a sweetheart so any pairing with her is bound to be lovely. And whichever one you're writing will be great. I'm definitely up for post-canon, though if you're not a CF fan, that's cool but I'd appreciate it if the story was vague about the route.

Dorothea/Petra -- Obviously this one has to take place in the second half of the game or post-game since Petra is still so young in part 1. When does she realize she cares for Dorothea as more than a friend? Does the language barrier get in their way? How does Dorothea adjust to her new life in Brigid? I love how strong and hardworking Petra is and while her verbal missteps are often used for comedic relief I really admire her for persisting in a second language.

Dorothea/Ingrid -- There's so much potential for this ship, it's really sad that they don't have an A support. I mean that scene with the ring during their Paralogue was just priceless. I'd love to hear more about how they get close or about the opera Dorothea was organizing or what they go onto do after the war. Ingrid is so serious and straight-laced and uninterested in traditional femininity (makeup, dresses, etc.) and then there's Dorothea, the former opera star--it's a sort of opposites attract setup.

Dorothea/Manuela -- Manuela really is a mess but the A support between these two is just so sweet! What was their relationship like at the opera? Has Dorothea always had feelings for Manuela or did that happen later? What's their post-game return to the stage like? Manuela is so insistant on finding a man during the game (she flirts with female Byleth but in their supports says something like 'if only you were a man'), so how do her feelings change?

Thank you for signing up to make something. AO3 exchanges are always something I look forward to. I hope you have fun and please consider my comments below only suggestions. Mostly I just want the chance to spend a little more time with these characters and in these worlds that I've so enjoyed.

Little Witch Academia – Diana, Akko

I love the dynamic between Diana and Akko how they go from being enemies/rivals to understanding and caring for each other and then going on to restore magic together. The fact that they're so different but have this common experience of loving magic but having been unable to use it is such a fantastic element of the story. Seeing Diana open up in the latter half of season two is really sweet. And seeing Akko work really hard and then actually succeed in learning a new spell/ability is also a highlight.

I'd enjoy anything about either these two whether as couple or as friends or individually. A sweet scene at school? A creepy incident during the next Samhain festival? Something completely different?

FE3H -- Edelgard

Edelgard is my favourite character in the game. I love her determination to make the world a better place and the moral greyness surrounding the decisions she makes and the ones she's forced to make due to the silthers. I love that her story is complex and tragic, but that it can also lead to hope and the reclaiming of humanity generally and her own humanity more particularly in CF route (whereas she loses her humanity in the other routes, but especially in AM). The fact that all the leaders in this game are flawed and problematic is one of the things that I've really enjoyed about it.

I'm also I'm fascinated by the double life Edelgard has to lead during the Garreg Mach phase of the game. On the one hand she's working with her imperial allies to prepare plans to topple the Church and working with the slithers, while also getting to know Byleth and the Black Eagles, which must be incredibly difficult when she knows she's deceiving them and they may or may not stick with her when they find out.

Really anything that explores her character whether a quiet day at the academy or a battle during the war, or anything in between would be great. Appearances by any other characters are great too. Though I do want to mention that if Byleth makes an appearance I strongly prefer female Byleth. I did all the routes as female Byleth so whenever I see male Byleth I'm like, "Who's that guy?" ;)

Sunless Sea – Tireless Mechanic

I love the weird, creepy world of Fallen London and the Underzee. The otherworldliness combined with the familiar elements of Victorian Britain is just delightful. The Tireless Mechanic was one of my favourite crewmembers--the brilliant but eccentric engineer trope is fun. I'm open to any sort of adventures in this world, whether creepy or mundane: fighting Zee beasts, or lounging around in the mess hall, or a mishap during a stay at port—or anything else! Appearances by any other characters are welcome, though I would prefer a female or gender-neutral captain.
