Dear RFE writer,
First of all, thank you so much for writing to me. I've rambled a bit about each of the pairings I've requested in case you want some ideas about what I like about them. For some of these I've included some ideas too, but please don't feel bound by them. If you have an idea you're really excited to write about, go for it!
Likes: f/f, Fluff, mystery, adventure, casefic, hurt/comfort, found families, strong female characters, affection, girls with swords, friends-to-lovers, missing scenes, post-canon, scars, injury recovery, happy/hopeful endings, time-travel, time-loops, getting together, pre-relationship, established relationships, unconventional formats that fit the canon setting (letters, journals, case reports, newspapers, non-linear narratives, etc.) and alternative story formats (choose your own adventure-style fics, visual novels, hyperlinked fics, etc.). For AUs, I like canon-divergence and what-if scenarios and I'm also partial to historical AUs.
DNW: Explicit sex (mentions and fade to black are okay), non-con, dubcon, incest, animal harm/death (hunting is fine as long as not graphic and fighting any kind of monster is fine too--just please don't kill pets or animal companions or the like), permanent main character death, graphic violence/gore, torture, self-harm, character-bashing, kidfic/pregnancy fic (mentions are fine; I just don't want babies and small children to be the focus of the fic), unrequested genderswap, mundane AUs (coffee shop, sports team etc.), supernatural AU (vampire AU, magical school AU, etc.)
Fire Emblem Heroes
Fire Emblem Awakening
Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Fire Emblem Three Hopes
Grim Grimoire
Slay the Princess
The Moon on a Rainy Night
Fire Emblem Heroes
Fjorm/Laegjarn
Enemies to lovers isn't usually my jam, but somehow this pairing was the exception for me. I really love how even when their nations are at war Laegjarn feels that she and Fjorm would otherwise have been friends. And I'm really tickled that the summoned versions of them do indeed canonically become friends. I'd love to see more of how this works, whether it's a scenario where they have to fight again due to summon contracts or where they're fighting side by side and have to rely on each other. Any kind of scene where they get to spend time together would be great. And feel free to toss in any other heroes you may need.
Being summoned gives them both a second chance. How do they feel about that? Do they have regrets about their past choices? What do they want to do with their lives now that the war is over and their siblings are responsible for their kingdoms? Of course there's still the Askr war going on and they still have to risk their lives on a regular basis to protect Askr so it's not as if they couldn't lose each other or suffer further injuries. How does that weigh on them? How do react to close calls, to moments when they get separated in battle, to the possibility of being parted?
Fire Emblem Awakening
Tiki/Say'ri
I adore their supports, the way Tiki insists that, in spite of Say'ri's comparatively short life span, she still wants to be close to her. The immoral/mortal dynamic has this inherently bittersweet element to it. They also have contrasting personalities with Tiki prone to moments of silliness and Say'ri being ultrta serious all the time, which is fun, especially as part of the deity/vassal aspect of their relationship. I'd love to see more of how their relationship evolves over time during or after the war and how Say'ri's able to move from seeing Tiki as a person in her own right rather than as the Voice of Naga.
Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones
Tana/Syrene
I love pairings that involve a member of royalty and their retainer or bodyguard. I always loved Seth/Eirika and Tana/Syrene is the same flavour of ship: retainer who's known the princess a long time and probably helped train her to fight, thrown together during the war. I'd love to see anything with them either before, during, or after the war. Loyalty, protectiveness, training or fighting together, managing friendship or romance when they're of different stations--these are all aspects of their dynamics I find really interesting.
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Dorothea/Manuela
Manuela really is a mess but the A support between these two is just so sweet! What was their relationship like at the opera? Has Dorothea always had feelings for Manuela or did that happen later? What's their post-game return to the stage like? Manuela is so insistant on finding a man during the game (she flirts with female Byleth but in their supports says something like 'if only you were a man'), so how do her feelings change?
Fire Emblem Three Hopes
Shez/Monica
Look I just find their supports really funny. I love that Monica is jealous of how much time Shez is spending with Edelgard. And then in their A support how off the rails she sounds and Shez is just not joining the Edelgard fan club. I would love to see more of their dynamic. I ship Edelgard with Byleth so Monica is doomed to unrequited love so I think Shez would be very helpful at maybe getting her mind off of that/moving in a new direction.
Grim Grimoire
Lilet/Amoretta
I really enjoyed how they used the time-loop in this game to basically create a non-linear narrative. It was really enjoyable seeing Lillet slowly put together all the pieces of the puzzle and figure out the several interconnected events that collided on that fifth night every time. And then they threw in the storyline with Amoretta, which I just loved (they even went with "there was only one bed" lol). I'd love to get to see these two spend more time together either during one of the many many time loops or post-canon. If you happen to ship them I'd love to see how their relationship evolves and how Amoretta comes to realize that her feelings for Lillet are mutual. If it's during the loops, I'd love to see them spending time together during lessons, or meals, or some normal moment when Amoretta isn't in danger and maybe seeing how Lillet's feelings developed over the loops, even if she doesn't remember all the past loops.Collapse
Slay the Princess
F!The Long Quiet/The Shifting Mound
Where do I even begin with this game? I love everything about it: the time-loops; the way even small dialogue choices can shape the outcome even though you choices are ultimately so limited; the voices; the different versions of the princess; and the Shifting Mound and the Long Quiet. The fact that the game starts out by telling you that it's a love story also hit my shipper button right away and I absolutely played it that way (plus my natural instinct was to not trust the narrator given how sketch the initial setup was). There's something incredibly compelling about the idea that these two beings who've been pitted against one another are in fact made for each other. I love the yearning when they keep meeting and parting and how hard it is for The Long Quiet who understands the pain they inflict on each other in their mortal forms better than the Shifting Mound seems to. There's a bittersweet quality to the push and pull of their relationship that was really beautiful. Having The Long Quiet be female and making it f/f would just be a delightful bonus.
I'm open to just about anything for this whether during the game, during the ending, or post-canon. I'd love to see more of those moments where The Long Quiet and The Shifting Mound seem to understand each other and where they can acknowledge the affection between. Please feel free to include any of the princesses as well if you're so inclined.
The Moon on a Rainy Night
Saki/Kanon
This is the absolute longest of longshots since it seems like nobody's read this manga (only three fics for it ;_; ) but just in case, I'd love to see something for these two. I love how Saki's friendship has allowed Kanon to come out of her shell and shed a lot of that self-doubt that's been plaguing her since middle school. But Saki's internalized homophobia is just killing me. I so want to see some resolution, which I know we're not getting anytime soon since the series is still ongoing in Japan. So would definitely love to see something where Saki confesses her feelings and they're well received. Or the reverse where it's Kanon who realizes she sees Saki as more than a friend and works up the nerve to tell her--much to Saki's surprise. Or something set in the future when they've settled all that and they're just spending time together without all the angst.
