Letter -- Dragons Exchange 2023

Dear author,

Thank your for writing about dragons. DRAGONS! I am excited about this. I've given some prompts and/or general ideas and questions below, but if you have a different idea go ahead and chase that plot bunny!

Likes: Fluff, mystery, adventure, casefic, hurt/comfort, found families, strong female characters, f/f, affection, girls with swords, friends-to-lovers, missing scenes, post-canon, unconventional fanworks that fit the canon setting (letters, journals, case reports, newspapers, non-linear narratives, choose your own adventure-style fics, etc.)

DNW: Explicit sex (mentions and fade to black are okay), non-con, dubcon, incest, animal harm/death (hunting is fine as long as not graphic and fighting any kind of monster is fine too--just please don't kill pets or animal companions or the like), main character death, graphic violence/gore, torture, self-harm, mundane AUs, character-bashing, kidfic

Enchanted Forest Chronicles
Morwen & Kazul
Curious to know more about how these two know each other and how they interact. Does Morwen ever go visit the dragons? How does she work with Kazul during the ten year gap when between books three and four? Things start to go downhill in the forest during that period—do the wizards or dark elves or other antagonistic beings and beasties cause trouble that they have to consult about or deal with?

Telemain & Kazul
Most of the interaction between these two is Telemain getting too technical and Kazul threatening to eat him. I'd be happy to see more of that and bonus points is Morwen (with optional cats) is there to save him from himself and provide translation. Would love to see them in any context whether it's over tea and Morwen's famous chicken salad sandwiches or during an outing in the forest, during the book, or during the ten year period between books three and four, or post-canon. The dynamics would probably be a bit different given when it takes place so please go ahead and choose whatever suits you best.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Dragon!Byleth (solo or with other nominated characters)
FE3H-specific requests: I'd prefer female Byleth. Feel free to add in extra characters outside of the ones nominated if you'd like. CF is my favourite route so if you're not partial to it could you please be vague about route or go with an AU version where everybody lives.

General ideas/questions:

What prompts Byleth to shift into dragon form?

  • It just happen during a critical moment when she wants to protect someone
  • Sothis/Rhea/Seteth/Flayn has told her she can do it and she's been practicing
  • Those who slither in the dark somehow force the transformation on her

How do other characters react?

Do different people react differently? Does it affect how they see her generally, whether they trust her? If you're including Edelgard, how does their shared crest affect things (given the game mentions that she feels drawn to Byleth because of her crest)?

How does Byleth feel about it?

Does she like having this extra ability because it can help her protect people more? Or does it distress her and make her worry about the extent of her abilities and about her and humanity. Who does she turn to for advice/help/explanations?

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes
Dragon!Byleth (solo or with other nominated characters)

FEW3H-specific requests: I'd prefer female Byleth and Shez. Feel free to add in extra characters outside of the ones nominated if you'd like. If you need to make reference to route please stick with SB or GW routes.

Okay hear me out… If Sothis is really a dragon and Byleth has her power surely Byleth can turn into a dragon like Rhea or the other Nabateans. I wrote a story a few years ago where that happened and I'd absolutely love to seem someone else's take on this.

General ideas/questions:

What prompts Byleth to shift into dragon form?

  • It just happen during a critical moment when she wants to protect someone
  • Sothis forces it on her during an attempt to take control of her like she does in some of the cut scenes
  • Sothis has told her she can do it and she's been practicing
  • Those who slither in the dark somehow force the transformation on her

How do other characters react?
Probably freaked out in a lot of cases though Shez might think it was cool. ;) Do different people react differently? Does it affect how they see her generally, whether they trust her? If you're including Edelgard, how does their shared crest affect things (given the game mentions that she feels drawn to Byleth because of her crest)?

How does Byleth feel about it?

Does she like having this extra ability because it can help her protect people more? Or does it distress her and make her worry about these weird powers and about her and humanity—after all in Deer and Eagle route she wouldn't have a chance to consult Rhea about it and get a full explanation and her relationship with Sothis pretty rocky for most of the game.

Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones

Eirika & Myrrh or Tana & Myrrh

In either of these cases I'd be curious to see something about Myrrh post-canon, maybe visiting her old war comrades years after the end of the war (for fun or because something serious is going on). Has she kept in touch with them at all or will the changes in their lives and kingdoms be a surprise to her? It's always hard for the Manakete characters to realize that their lifespans far outstretch those of their human friends. How is she coping with that knowledge?
